Frequently Asked Questions
Vinyl printing uses a durable, weather-resistant vinyl substrate instead of paper. It is the right choice for outdoor banners, hoardings, vehicle graphics, shop fascias, and any display that will be exposed to rain, wind, or direct sunlight. Standard paper posters would degrade quickly in these conditions.
Vinyl printing is available in a range of standard sizes and can also be ordered in custom dimensions for banners or large-format signage. Provide your exact width and height in millimetres or centimetres during order configuration. For very large outdoor banners, resolution requirements are lower — 72–100 dpi at final print size is typically sufficient.
UV-resistant vinyl prints typically last 2–4 years outdoors depending on sun exposure, humidity, and whether the print is laminated. Laminated vinyl prints last longer and resist fading better. India's monsoon and intense summer sun accelerate degradation, so lamination is advisable for any outdoor vinyl signage intended to last more than one season.
Vinyl is the standard material for vehicle graphics and window wraps. For vehicle wraps, a specialist cast vinyl (not calendered vinyl) is usually required. Contact Printster to confirm the specific vinyl grade and adhesive type available for your application before ordering, as vehicle applications have specific material requirements.
Upload a print-ready PDF or high-resolution image at 100–150 dpi at actual print size (larger formats do not need 300 dpi). Add 5–10 mm bleed on all sides. Use CMYK colour mode if possible. For cut vinyl or shapes, provide a separate vector cutting path layer if precision cut-to-shape is required.
